Everest Community Foundation Annual Turkey Drive 2016

As the world around us continues to change, there is one constant that never changes – that we feel better about ourselves when we help someone else. This year, once again, we come to you and ask that you take advantage of your opportunity to feed qualified families in your local areas over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Sixteen years ago, we had the honor of starting a program that became known as the Troop Turkey-A-Thon, a program where we donate groceries to feed qualified families through the food banks in their local areas. Last year alone we provided meals for approximately 28,000 people, with leftovers to boot, all in Ventura County. Since the beginning, we have easily fed over 200,000 people a holiday meal. This year our goal is to feed at least 30,000 people, or approx. 3,000 families, including 750 recently adopted military families. With your help, we know we can do it.

Brian Troop behind the scenes at our 2016 Turkey DriveFor just $25.00, you can provide each family a meal consisting of:

  • a 14-18 pound turkey,
  • a 5-pound bag of potatoes,
  • a box of stuffing,
  • 2 cans of green beans,
  • a can of cream of mushroom soup, and
  • fresh rolls.

Each meal feeds at least 10 people. We will distribute the meals to the families on Monday morning, November 21st. You may feed as many families as you like.

We are once again asking for your support for this program. Imagine what you can do for a family that has almost nothing. We have a great start with Corporate Sponsorships from First Automotive Group, Kirby Auto Group, DCH Toyota fo Simi Valley, Rusnak BMW, Simi Valley Buick & GMC, Infiniti of Thousand Oaks, Better Health & Wellness, Victor Muradian Dentistry, Elks USA, Utopia, Harrison Industries, Simi Auto Spa, Simi Sunset, TRC Medical, Wells Fargo, Albertsons, Farmers Insurance, All Valley Escrow, Consumer’s Title Company and Prospect Mortgage but it takes individuals like you to really make this happen.

There is nothing more powerful than the power to give. Please consider this request with your heart and if possible, do what you can. One meal, two meals, twenty meals, it really doesn’t matter as long as you can help. Volunteers are also welcome. You will be benefiting people of all ages, old and young, unemployed, handicapped, sick, or just plain down on their luck.

This year’s need is greater than ever and we need your help. Please join us in this most worthy cause. We won’t be cooking at all. We’ll simply be delivering the food to those in need. Just think of those happy, full families all because of you.

Thank you for considering this request, anything that you can do is more than appreciated.

Sincerely,

CENTURY 21 Everest
